Short abstract from the book: Eleven bean geese have been ringed in Denmark, and one
of these was later recovered, also in Denmark. Bean geese
ringed in Norway (18), Finland (41) and Sweden (19) have
been recovered in Denmark, the first in late September. Most
Norwegian birds are found in November and December,
mainly in the southern parts of Denmark. Most Finnish birds
have been recovered in December–March, mainly in eastern
Denmark. Birds from northern Sweden have been found in
north and west Jutland, and birds from the population in
central Sweden have been found in eastern Denmark. From
Denmark some bean geese migrate to the Netherlands, while
others spend the winter in Denmark. Recoveries indicate that
many geese return to the same wintering site year after year.
Bean geese depart from Denmark in March.
