Short abstract from the book: The goosander is a rare breeder in Denmark, but a common
winter visitor in inner Danish waters. In Denmark most of
the goosander ringing has been performed over a few years.
Birds are either caught in duck decoys or by hand. Apart
from one, all the recovered birds were ringed in Zealand. The
recoveries indicate that the few Danish breeders stay close to
the breeding site year round. The winter visitors come from
Finland, Russia, Estonia and Sweden. Norwegian goosanders
are mainly found in Jutland and Finnish birds chiefly in
eastern Denmark.
