Short abstract from the book:
The scarlet rosefinch is a rare breeding bird in Denmark with an estimated population of 200–250 pairs. It is a scarce passage migrant in spring and rare in autumn. In Denmark the first scarlet rosefinch was ringed in 1966, with most ringed in the 1980s and 1990s. Nearly all the recovered birds were ringed at migratory hotspots; however, some could be breeding birds. Scarlet rosefinches ringed in Sweden and Norway have been recovered in Denmark on 8 August and 1 September. A bird ringed on Christiansø was recovered in Iran on 24 August. No birds have been recovered during winter. A single bird recovered in Hungary at the end of May gives a clue to the spring migration. In Denmark most passage migrants are observed in the last week of May. Some of the birds recovered on Christiansø in late May and early June were ringed in southern Sweden.
