Short abstract from the book: The penduline tit first bred in Denmark in 1964 and is today
a scarce breeder with a patchy but stabile breeding distribution. In Denmark, the first penduline tit was ringed in 1971.
The majority of the recovered birds were ringed in Jutland.14
birds have been recovered, two from abroad. All the recovered
birds were ringed in the summer or autumn months – none
were ringed as chicks. The recoveries indicate that the Danish
penduline tits migrate towards SSW in September to wintering sites in South-Western France. Eight Danish birds have
been recovered from this area – the earliest October 26. Two
birds ringed in the South of France and in North Spain in
October-November have been recovered in Denmark. Three
birds that were all ringed as juveniles in Denmark were recovered the subsequent year in South Sweden.
12 foreign birds have been recovered in Denmark. These
recoveries show that Swedish birds pass Denmark on their
migration and indicate some degree of interchange between
the two populations.
