Eurasian Rock Pipit

Anthus petrosus

Short abstract from the book:
The rock pipit is a rare breeding bird in Denmark, mainly breeding on smaller islands in the Kattegat area. It is a rather common passage migrant, most numerously in September– October and March. In Denmark the first rock pipit was ringed in 1930, with most ringed in 1975 (54) and 1976 (49). Eleven of the 12 recovered birds were ringed at breeding locations on Nordre Rønner and Hirsholmene. Most of the birds ringed at the breeding sites were recovered at the ringing site, three during the first summer, four in the second summer and two in the third summer. Only one of the Danish birds was recovered during winter, in southwest France. Recoveries of foreign-ringed birds show that passage migrants come from Sweden. These birds were ringed on migration and could be from further northeast.
