Short abstract from the book: The goldfinch is a common breeding bird in open country in
most of Denmark. It is a rather common passage migrant,
mainly in October and March–April. Surprisingly few goldfinches have been ringed in Denmark. The first was ringed in
1922, with the highest numbers ringed in the 1970s. All the
recovered goldfinches were ringed from April to October, most
in July and August. Half of the birds were ringed on Amager
and at Nakskov. From Denmark goldfinches migrate SW.
In October and November birds have been recovered in the
Netherlands and Belgium and in December in France. Birds
ringed in the Netherlands, Belgium and northwest Germany
have been recovered in Denmark in the breeding season.
