Short abstract from the book: The green woodpecker is a rare breeding bird in Denmark
with an estimated population of 750–1,000 breeding pairs.
Only 65 have been ringed and ten of these recovered, six
ringed in southern Jutland and four in northern Jutland. All
the recovered birds were recovered at the ringing site. Two
green woodpeckers from northern Germany have been recovered in southern Jutland. One was ringed as an adult in
March 1986 and recovered in November the same year. The
other was ringed as a juvenile in September 1995 and recovered in May 1996.
