Short abstract from the book: The great skua is a rare passage migrant in Denmark, mainly
observed along the west coast of Jutland in periods with
strong westerly winds. Only one great skua has been ringed in
Denmark, and this bird was never recovered. However, 78
birds ringed abroad have been recovered in Denmark, of these
76 were from the colonies on Orkney and Shetland. These
birds have been recovered all year round, though most from
July to November. The majority have been found along the
west coast of Jutland (58), but some have entered Limfjord
(4), Kattegat (3) and inner Danish waters (11). Two young
skuas from Iceland and Norway were recovered in Denmark
in December and October respectively
