Short abstract from the book: The little grebe is a fairly common bird in Denmark, breeding in lakes and bogs over most of the country. Denmark is at the northern boundary of the species’ European breeding distribution. In Denmark 103 little grebes have been ringed, most at the beginning of the 1960s. Nine birds have been recovered, five from abroad during winter. Some birds winter in Denmark, while others migrate to northern Germany, southern England, Belgium and the Netherlands.
No Danish birds have been recovered in the alpine lakes, where many winter.
