Short abstract from the book: The little stint is a rather rare passage migrant in Denmark
in July–September and in May. The number of autumn
migrants shows large yearly fluctuations.
In Denmark the first little stint was ringed in 1952, with
most ringed in the second half of the 1990s. Only seven birds
have been recovered, all ringed in August–September.
Five migrants ringed in southern Norway in September
were recovered in Denmark later the same autumn.
Furthermore, two birds ringed in Finland in mid-August and
one ringed in southern Sweden were recovered in Denmark in
July–October. Only one of the birds ringed in Denmark was
recovered during autumn, in southern Spain. During winter
birds have been recovered in western France and along the
Mediterranean in France and Spain. Only a few little stints
pass Denmark in spring.
