Short abstract from the book: The mediterranean gull is a very rare breeding bird in
Denmark with only four breeding pairs. It is a scarce visitor
outside the breeding season. Of nine mediterranean gulls ringed in Denmark, three have been recovered. These birds were
all ringed in Copenhagen. Eight mediterranean gulls ringed
abroad have been recovered in Denmark. Six of these birds
were ringed at the Black Sea and five were recovered already
in their first autumn. Another mediterranean gull ringed in
Hungary was recovered in Denmark as a one-year-old in July.
Two birds born in Belgium and one in the Netherlands were
recorded in Denmark during autumn. One of these birds,
had earlier visited France, England and Spain. Birds ringed
in Denmark during winter have later been recovered in UK
and Germany, one as a breeder on Heligoland.
