Short abstract from the book: Merlins are observed in migration in August–November
and March–May. The first merlin was ringed in 1933, and
totally 33 birds have been ringed; no more than two birds
each year. One of the ringed birds was subsequently recovered
in Norway. Merlins ringed in Norway (10), Sweden (3) and
Finland (1) have been recovered in Denmark from August to
April, the majority in September–October. Two were recovered during winter. Merlins ringed in Spain (December), the
Netherlands (February) and Belgium (October) have been
recovered in Denmark.
