Short abstract from the book:
1). I efterårsperioder
English summary
The gannet is a fairly common migrant on the Danish west
coast, mainly in periods with westerly winds. Twenty gannets
have been ringed in Denmark, mainly weakened birds released after rearing. One ringed bird was later reported from
Friesland in the Netherlands and three were found close to
the ringing site. In Denmark, 110 foreign-ringed gannets have
been recovered. These were ringed in colonies on the Faeroe
Islands, Iceland, Lofoten, Great Britain and the Netherlands.
The gannets were recovered at all times of the year, most in
October, and mainly (89 %) along the Danish west coast.
Fourteen per cent of the recovered birds were recovered in
their first year, 34 % in their second year and 14 % in their
third. The oldest gannet recovered in Denmark was aged 31
years and 3 months.
