Rød glente

Short abstract from the book:
The red kite is a rare breeder in Denmark with about 20–25 breeding pairs. In Denmark the first red kite was ringed in 1905, but most were ringed after the species recolonisation in the 1970s. The recovered birds were all ringed as chicks in Jutland. A first-year bird was recovered in southern Norway in August, but the main migration is SW. In autumn, Danish kites have been found in southern Spain (6 November) and Portugal (17 November). Only one red kite has been recovered in winter, in Spain. Two red kites were recovered in March, one in Belgium and one in Denmark. Three of the red kites ringed as chicks were recovered as mature birds in the breeding season, one in Sweden, one in Schleswig-Holstein and one in southern Jutland. Four Swedish and three German red kites have been recovered in Denmark. One of the Swedish birds bred in Denmark in 1983.
