Short abstract from the book: The ring ouzel is a rare passage migrant in Denmark, mainly
along the west coast of Jutland. In Denmark the first ring
ouzel was ringed in 1954 and the highest numbers in 1969
and 1988. The recovered birds were mainly ringed on the
west coast of Jutland and a few other coastal sites in April–
May and September–October. The recoveries indicate that
the migrants passing Denmark come from Norway. From
Denmark the ring ouzels migrate SSW and in the second half
of October birds have been recovered in southern France and
northeast Spain. None of the birds ringed in Denmark has
been recovered during winter. The spring migration seems
to follow the same route as in autumn with recoveries in the
French Pyrenees (17 March and 25 April), the Netherlands
(23 April) and Germany (20 April). Ring ouzels depart from
Denmark in late April and early May.
