Short abstract from the book: The sanderling is a rather common passage migrant in
Denmark, mainly in July–August and in May. In Denmark
32 birds have been ringed but none of these has subsequently
been recovered. Eleven sanderlings ringed abroad have been
recovered in Denmark. None of the recovered birds was ringed in the breeding area, and our knowledge about the origin of the Danish migrants remains limited. Birds ringed on
migration in southern Norway, in Sweden and Finland have
been recovered in Denmark. Some birds continue to wintering
grounds in Africa while others winter in Western Europe.
